ClearPoint Executive Biographies

Envisioning an employee benefits consulting company based on results and return on investment for clients, Peter Carpenter, Kevin Overbey, and Stephen DiPietro founded ClearPoint, LLC in 1997.

 

Peter CarpenterPETER S. CARPENTER, Chief Executive Officer
With more than thirteen years of experience in group insurance benefits, Peter Carpenter has developed a strong reputation within both the employee benefit industry and the general business community. As co-founder of ClearPoint, Peter focuses on implementing creative solutions with multi-location employers and negotiates with ClearPoint’s large network of benefit vendors.

Prior to founding ClearPoint, Peter honed his skills in group benefits as vice president of sales and marketing for The Reppond Company (now BenefitPort Northwest). He also served as a group representative and manager for Sun Life Insurance Company. With Peter, the insurance industry and employee benefits planning is a family tradition — Peter’s father worked as an independent insurance broker for more than four decades.

Peter earned his bachelor’s degree from Colby College, where he majored in Government and Spanish.

 

Kevin OverbeyKEVIN T. OVERBEY, Managing Partner
Kevin is a founder and managing partner at ClearPoint employee benefits consulting and has more than twenty years experience in employee benefit services and international business. Before joining ClearPoint, Kevin served as a vice president for The Reppond Company (now BenefitPort). Prior to that, he was regional manager for UNUM Life Insurance Company in both Canada and the United States. He currently serves on the boards of ASINTA Global Benefits Network and is a member of both the International Foundation of Employee Benefits and the British/American Chamber of Commerce.

Kevin is the director of the ClearAdvantage Trust, which embeds Consumer Directed Healthcare and a robust wellness program to reduce the cost of healthcare and increase productivity in the workplace.

As head of ClearPoint’s International Business Unit, Kevin Overbey consults with large multi-national companies with operations around the world. Kevin is certified in Global Benefits Management by the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans and his areas of expertise include both U.S. companies with employees abroad and foreign companies with employees in the United States. His forte is ensuring employee benefit programs provide maximum efficiency and parity in international environments.

A Pacific Northwest native, Overbey grew up in Portland, Oregon and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in marketing management and communications from Oregon State University.

 

Stephen DiPietroSTEPHEN J. DIPIETRO, Managing Partner
Stephen DiPietro has more than fourteen years of experience in group insurance benefits, and specializes in designing strategic benefit plans and creating alternative funding strategies. With experience in creating complex benefit plans on a self-funded or fully insured basis, Stephen has a number of clients who are large multi-location employers.

Before joining ClearPoint, Stephen served as sales manager for Sun Life Insurance Company in both California and Nevada. He started his career in insurance as a sales representative for Sun Life in Chicago.

Stephen earned his Bachelor of Science degree in political science from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo.

 

Pierre GallantPIERRE T. GALLANT, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer, ClearPoint Holdings LLC
Pierre brings more than twenty years of financial and operational to ClearPoint Holdings LLC. His responsibilities include oversight of the holding company's activities in business development, risk management, strategy, tax, and financial reporting and analysis.

Before joining ClearPoint, Pierre served as president, CEO and director of Oralis.com, Inc., a provider of online supply-chain procurement technology solutions to healthcare practitioners and their suppliers. At Transactiv, Inc. (formerly BioNetwork), he served as president, CEO and director for the online business-to-business commerce company. During his tenure as vice president of corporate finance at BZW, the investment banking division of Barclays PLC, he provided advisory services to private and publicly listed companies in the areas of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and capital (equity and debt) structuring and placements. Prior to BZW, Pierre served in various operational restructuring capacities for core investments of Pocklington Financial, a leveraged buy-out firm.

Pierre attended Gonzaga University and earned his Master's degree in Business Administration at INSEAD, in Fontainebleau, France.
